Will Clarke is part of an elite club of ITU athletes to have made the podium at a World Triathlon Series event. He achieved this at the Dextro Energy Triathlon - ITU World Championship Series Hamburg in 2011. He ended that season ranked 9th in the world. He is a 2008 British Olympian, having finished 14th in Beijing.
Clarke is now planning to focus his attention on Ironman70.3 racing, covering the longer distances of 1900m swim, 56mile bike and 13.1mile run. He is based in Loughborough.
In 2010 Will was 6th at the highly competitive Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Elite Cup in Des Moines, Iowa. This was arguably the best result of his season as he suffered a bike crash in August and was forced to miss the World Championship Grand Final in September.
In October 2010 Will married his long-term girlfriend, Clare, in their home town, Cambridge. He lives in Loughborough (when not training in Australia) and has a dog, Lola.
