Tom is a student at Leeds University and is part of the UK Sport Lottery Funded British Triathlon Podium Potential Squad. He trains at the British Triathlon satellite centre in Leeds.
Tom is originally from Derby and started a degree in History at Leeds in 2009. He has a twin brother, David, who is also an international triathlete at Loughborough University. His mother, Hilary, is also an excellent cyclist.
He was recognised as the British Triathlon Male Junior Triathlete of the Year 2010 in November following his successful season of winning international medals in both triathlon and duathlon.
2011 was a successful year for Tom finishing third at the ITU U23 World Championships and a number of promising results including first place in the Toshiba Windsor Triathlon.
