Sophie is a member of the British Triathlon World Class Podium Potential Squad. She is orginally from Gravesend, Kent but now lives in Keyworth, Nottingham, where she is a member of Charnwood Athletics Club and Nottingham Leander Swimming Club (of which Rebecca Adlington is also a member). Shis is now coached full time by British Triathlon coach, Adam Elliott, and a member of the UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class Performance Squad.

Sophie competed at the ITU Triathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand in October 2012, where she finished 15th as a 17 year-old. She also finished 4th at the ETU Triathlon European Championships in Eilat in April 2012.

What are your plans for the future?

I am staying at school for A Levels. My plan is to go to university – and ultimately to be a full time triathlete.

Who do you look up to in triathlon?

Emma Snowsill for her incredibly quick 10k off the bike.

What is your best strength in triathlon? 

The run; you can be way back in the field and still finish well if you have a good run.

How did you get into triathlon?

I got into triathlon aged eight when my mum entered me into a local event in Clifton (Nottingham).

What is your ultimate goal in triathlon?

I would like to represent GB in the ITU World Series Events, the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.
