Mark hails from a steeplechase background, having been pipped to a place in the England team for the 2006 Commonwealth Games by fellow trigold athlete, Adam Bowden.
He was recruited to triathlon through the 2010 trigold scheme and has been training full time in Loughborough since October 2010.
In 2011 Mark took top spot at the British Elite Duathlon Championships in Loughborough beating Todd Leckie into second.
Mark is part of the UK Sport Lottery funded British Triathlon Olympic Foundation Squad and receives additional funding from Barrie Well and the Well Sports Foundation.
