Bio...

Lucy has already made a name for herself as one of the fastest swimmers in triathlon. Despite still being a junior, she made her senior debut in the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series in 2011 - and exited the water first on both occasions (Hamburg and Lausanne).

She is well known in France, where she races in the French Grand Prix and is named "la Sirène" or "mermaid".

Lucy competed in her first triathlon at the age of eight. She joined swimming and running clubs so that she could improve her triathlon performances and won a number of titles as well as represented Leicestershire at a national level in swimming.

She won the National Junior Aquathon when she was 13 and was selected to represent Great Britain in the European Youth Triathlon Championships in Italy, Finland and Spain where she took gold in 2006 and bronze in 2007 as part of relay teams.

She went on to secure bronze in 2009 as part of the Youth Olympics team in Sydney.

Lucy is a member of the UK Sport Lottery funded British Triathlon World Class Development Programme and currently studying at Loughborough College for a foundation degree in Sports Science and Management. She balances her time between her studies and training with Loughborough University Elite Triathlon Squad.

Major results:

Coach: Gavin Smith

Height: 5ft 8in

Plans after school:

I would love to make triathlon my profession. I'm currently studying and training at Loughborough University, the sport facilities on campus are ideal for training.

Sporting idol:

Runner Jo Pavey. She's not afraid to lead from the front in races and makes the race her own.

Strength in triathlon:

A lot of people would say my swim is my strength. But I think my strength is the combination of swim and bike. My bike has improved significantly in the past 6 months.

How did you get in to triathlon: My dad introduced me to the sport when I was 8 years old. I competed in a fun kids triathlon that was the day before my dad competed in an olympic triathlon. Loved it ever since!

Ultimate goal in triathlon:

I think the pinnacle of my sporting career would be to represent and win an Olympic gold medal for my country. But to win at a world championahips would be just as amazing.
