Bio...

Josh Harris is one of a group of talented athletes from South Wales, and trains with the Cardiff Ajax Cyling Club which has helped shape the careers of Olympic gold medallists, Nicole Cooke and Geraint Thomas. He is also a member of the City of Newport Swimming Club and  Lliswerry Runners

Josh's school, Bassaleg School, also taught Wales International rugby players Ryan Jones and Alix Popham. Josh was a member of Great Britain’s relay team that finished 2nd at the European Youth Relays in Vila Nova de Gaia Portugal, 2010. Other squad members were Gordon Benson, Morgan Davies and Simon Cooper.

Who do you look up to most in the current elite triathlon set up, and why?

In triathlon I would say I look up to Alistair Brownlee because he is so committed and dedicated to triathlon. Being so good he has managed to promote triathlon through the national media. 

What is your best strength in triathlon?

Being from a swimming background my strongest dicipline is definately swimming. I am also quick when it comes to transition.

How did you get into triathlon?

My dad suggested it to me as I was a keen swimmer and cyclist.

What is your best achievement to date?

Making the Olympic Talent Squad and winning 'Most Promising Young Sportsman of the year' at the Newport Sports Awards in 2004.

What is your ultimate goal in triathlon and beyond?

Representing Great Britain at the Olympics and Commonwealth games, has been my ultimate goal from a young age.

Are any of the rest of your family into sports?

My Mum was a county runner and my Dad has taken an interest in running and cycling.
