Bio...

Jonny Brownlee was the bronze medallist at the London 2012 Olympics. Along with his brother Alistair, who won the gold medal, he is the first triathlete to win an Olympic medal after the sport was introduced to the Games in Sydney 2000.

Jonny is also the current ITU World Sprint Champion and finshed runner up to Alistair Brownlee in the 2011 ITU World Championship Series.

2010 was a breakthrough year for Jonny which saw him go from being a talented junior to a senior world champion and podium finisher in the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series. He was also an emphatic winner of the World U23 title in Budapest in September.

In 2011 he has announced himself as one of the leading senior male competitors in the world. He's finished on the podium at every Dextro Energy ITU World Championship Series event that he has raced during 2011 (Sydney, Madrid, London, Lausanne).

He raced as a junior in 2009 at the European and World Championships, but also raced as a senior at key events such as the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship London.

He is the younger brother of 2009 World Champion, Alistair Brownlee - the brothers have now won seven world titles between them. They have a younger brother, Edward, who is an excellent rugby player.

Jonny completed a degree in History at Leeds University in summer 2012. He got a 2:1.

Jonny is a member of UK Sport Lottery funded British Triathlon 2012 Squad training at the performance centre in Leeds, coached by Malcolm Brown and Jack Maitland.
