Do you come from a sporty family?
Yes, my dad (Darryl Taylor) used to represent England for 800m. His PB was 1min 48secs. My mum used to swim at regional and national standard, running for Sale Harriers. She is the reason I started swimming so young.
What are your plans after you finish school?
After finishing university I want to become a full time athlete or get a job in sport, perhaps become sport physio therapist.
What is your best strength in triathlon?
Running.
How did you get into triathlon?
I've always wanted to do triathlon since I was in primary school. I have been swimming since I was about five and my parents are interested in running and swimming. I only started running when I was 12/13yrs old when I was picked to run for my school. I then progressed from there, representing my local area and then moving on to run for Greater Manchester in cross country.
Having progressed substantially in both running and swimming I was advised to choose one specific sport to focus my efforts on. Not wanting to do this I looked into triathlon and had a trial for the British Triathlon Olympic Development Squad which I got on to. Soon after starting cycling I was hooked and have just progressed from there.
What is your ultimate goal in triathlon and beyond?
My ultimate goal for triathlon is to make it to the Olympics and win!
